Surveying the Pacific North West forest from a giant crane

Just spent a thrilling day filming a feature about forest science. From a gondola suspended from an industrial crane 60m above a forest in Washington state - on a beautifully clear sunny day - we 'floated' above the tree canopy. At least that's how it felt. A unique perspective on an extremely complex eco system. Full story on World News America and BBC News soon...

Meanwhile an evening to be spent in beautiful Portland, Oregon tonight.
