On election day voters in California's will have the opportunity to vote for a dead candidate. Jenny Oropeza died on Oct. 20 at the age of 53 after a long illness. But the veteran Democrat's name will remain on the ballot paper. If she wins she will be considered as the elected state senate member for the Long Beach area of California - pending a by-election.
