It is one of the Olympics' most memorable moments, for all the wrong reasons. In 1988, the American diver Greg Louganis, hit his head on the diving board. As he bled from a head wound, Louganis knew he was secretly HIV-positive.
"When that happened I told my coach, 'That's all anybody is going to remember. Me hitting my head on the board in the Olympics.' Fortunately I came back and I was successful."
LISTEN to my interview with Louganis on the BBC World Service's Sporting Witness as he reflects on that moment, 24 years later.
