Sam Maher is a West Australian instrumentalist and drummer who plays the handpan, a little-known transcendental percussion instrument invented in Switzerland. We met at TED MED in California where Sam captivated the audience of thinkers with his unique style of music. The handpan produces a sound that appears to have a therapeutic effect on some people, as we discussed on BBC Radio 5 Live.
