The annual TED conference has been taking place in Long Beach, California. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design and involves some of the world's big thinkers getting together for a mass brain storming session. This year, one of the speakers revealed a novel approach to combating malaria, that sounds like something out of Star Wars. A system has been developed to kill mosquitoes by zapping them in the air with a laser, before they can pass on the disease.
